Thessaloniki
23 Centuries of History
Thessaloniki is rich in history — stroll the Upper City (Ano Poli) along cobblestoned roads and stop
for meze and tsipouro. Visit the White Tower, the Archaeological & Byzantine museums, or the Kapani
market for local shopping and the vibe of a different era.
You can also visit on pilgrimage the relics of St Demetrius, patron of the city. The city itself
is an open-air museum — just strolling around reveals remnants of its layered past everywhere.
